The Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley is looking for the right person to join our team working with youth, developing healthy lifestyles, good character & leadership skills and positively impacting lives on a part time basis.
The Garden & Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator will oversee the Club Garden program and curriculum, organize lesson plans, lead youth in afterschool programs on healthy lifestyles, healthy cooking, and cultivate/maintain garden crops, leaving some garden activities for youth participation.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (to include, but not limited to)
· Plan, lead, and oversee the Healthy Habits Program; including nutritional education, pedal power, and making healthy lifestyle choices.
· Plan, lead, and oversee the Garden Club Program; including cooking activities, garden activities and tasting tables.
· Oversee the Club Garden and complete necessary gardening tasks.
· Promote the Club Garden and its accompanying programs to Club families and the wider community.
· Plan and lead take home resources for program participants and family activities (family nights) to support family education.
Successful applicants will possess a positive attitude, communication & conflict resolution skills, be a team player, pass a criminal history background check and drug screen. Experience in vegetable gardening along with experience in planning & implementing youth programs is preferred.

Pay Rate: $16.00-$19.00 /hour DOE
Monday-Friday 11:30-6:30
