Through Club membership, youth gain access to programs, activities, athletics, and opportunities designed to help them grow as leaders, learners, and teammates.

At the Club, every membership represents a young person stepping into a place where they are encouraged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

After School Programs

 

Jr. Club (Kindergarten Program) 

Building Confidence, Friendships, and Fun Every Day 

Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley’s Jr. Club provides kindergarten students with a safe, welcoming environment after school where they can play, learn, and build meaningful friendships. Members participate in age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities led by caring, trained staff. 

Jr. Club Program Includes: 

  • Educational and enrichment activities 
  • Arts, crafts, games, and recreation 
  • Opportunities to build confidence and social skills 
  • Positive relationships with trusted adult mentors 
  • A safe and supervised environment 

Jr. Club Is Currently Full 

Space is limited, and enrollment is based on availability. To join the waitlist, email your first and last name, phone number, and child’s name to contactus@bgcuv.org, or call our office at 541-440-9505. 

Families will be contacted when an opening becomes available. Once a child is offered a spot, staff will provide instructions for completing registration. Emergency contact and medical information must be provided before enrollment can be finalized. 

Safe Pick-Up Procedures 

A parent, guardian, or authorized adult must come inside the Club and request that their child be called to the Greeter’s Desk.

Children may only leave with individuals listed as authorized pickups.

Elementary Program (Grades 1–5)

 Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley provides elementary-age youth with a safe, welcoming environment after school where they can learn, play, and build meaningful friendships. Members enjoy a balance of academic support, recreation, creative exploration, and character-building activities led by caring staff.  

 Elementary Program Includes: 

  • Homework help and academic support 
  • Arts, crafts, and creative expression 
  • Sports, games, and healthy lifestyles 
  • STEM and hands-on learning activities 
  • Positive relationships with trusted adult mentors 

 

Teen Center (Grades 6–12) 

A Space Designed for Teens 

Middle and high school students have access to a dedicated Teen Center created specifically for youth grades 6-12. The Teen Center provides a welcoming space where teens can connect with friends, explore new interests, develop leadership skills, and prepare for their future in a supportive environment. 

Whether they’re looking for a place to study, participate in clubs, gain workforce readiness skills, or simply spend time with positive peers and mentors, the Teen Center offers opportunities designed with teens in mind. 

 Teen Programming Includes: 

  • Dedicated Teen Center exclusively for grades 6–12 
  • Homework assistance and academic support 
  • Leadership programs including Torch Club and Keystone Club 
  • College and career readiness opportunities 
  • Workforce development and life skills 
  • Technology, STEM, and creative arts 
  • Recreation, sports, and wellness activities 
  • Community service and volunteer opportunities 
  • Positive mentoring and peer connections 
  • Teen-specific events, activities, and field trips
